This brilliant dessert is a great way to use up old or stale hot cross buns.
6 hot-cross buns
Butter
Seville orange marmalade
400g tin of Ambrosia Custard
50g chocolate chips
1) Slice 6 hot-cross buns in half. Butter the bases, spread them with Seville orange marmalade, then place them into a snug fitting baking dish. Open a 400g tin of Ambrosia Custard and pour over ½ of the contents, then sprinkle over 50g chocolate chips and cover with the bun tops. Pour over the remaining custard, sprinkle over a few more chocolate chips, and turn the oven on to 160C/gas 2.
2) When the oven has heated up, put in the baking dish and cook for 45 minutes, or until just set. Allow to stand for 10 minutes, then serve.
